Background Essay: Inquiry-Based: Converting Fractions to Percents

Sometimes the mathematics of fractions, decimals and percents becomes lost in the processes students use to manipulate and solve problems with these representations. Alternate ways of viewing a problem may result in solutions that make more sense to individual students. Seeing a fraction as a division problem is a pre-algebra concept that underlies skills needed by GED® students.
