Understanding the Standards We Teach introduces the participants to a method for unpacking each standard and examining its parts, content, skills, and the context in which the content and skills are to be used. All of this information is vital in making the determination of what content and skills are appropriate for each class of adult learners. Immediately after each standard is unpacked, the discussion of the learning community turns to deciding on a sample activity that is relevant to the lesson and real-life of the students.
