In this video segment from Between the Lions, Cleo reads the Lion family a story of a little girl named Violet who loves music and searches for people just like her. When Violet was a baby she played her rattle music, but she couldn't find anyone who wanted to play music with her. When Violet was two, she made a horn and tooted it all day, but her family wouldn't play music with her. In kindergarten, Violet looked for other kids who wanted to play music all day long. Nobody in her class wanted to play music. Even at the beach, at breakfast, in the bath — all of the time — Violet played music and looked for kids like her. She couldn't find musical kids at the zoo, at the museum, or at the dentist. One day Violet was playing her guitar in the park when she heard someone playing the drums, someone playing the saxophone, and someone singing. The kids start making music together. Key vocabulary includes: music, horn, guitar, drum, saxophone, and band. This video segment provides a resource for Fluency, Vocabulary, and Language and Vocabulary Development.
