Math Instructional Strategies: Number Operations

Special Collection

This collection of resources was produced by KET for adult educators. Videotaped segments taken in actual classroom settings provide examples of strategies for teaching math in the adult education classroom. You will find techniques for using “hooks” to create relevance, suggestions for illustrating the relationship among decimals, fractions and percents, and examples of strategies to determine student understanding after a lesson. Some lessons are presented in traditional lecture-based style, while others feature student discussion and collaboration.
