- Bald Eagle: The Bald Eagle's head is covered with short white feathers. Its yellow beak is short and thick. The end of its beak curves straight down and forms a sharp tip.
- Black-Necked Stilt: The Black-Necked Stilt has a black head and a white face. Tufts above its dark eyes resemble eyebrows. The stilt's black beak is long and narrow, like chopsticks.
- Black Oystercatcher: The Oystercathcer's body is all-black, with yellow feet and an orange, needle-like beak.
- Brown Pelican: The Brown Pelican is a large grey-brown bird with a long curving neck. The Pelican's beak is as long as a child's arm. The Pelican stands with its head bent and its beak folded against its long neck.
- Great Blue Heron: The Great Blue Heron has a long pointed beak that resembles a big pair of scissors.
- Great Crested Flycatcher: The Great Crested Flycatcher a brown bird with a tuft of feathers sticking up on its head. It holds its thin beak wide open.
- Indigo Bunting: The Indigo Bunting has short, blue feathers and a short, pointed beak.
- Pileated Woodpecker: The Pileated Woodpecker has a black body with white stripes on its face and a tuft of bright red feathers on its head. The woodpecker clings to a tree with its sharp claws and pulls something out of a hole with its stout, needle-sharp beak.
- Red Crossbill: The Red Crossbill is a small reddish-brown bird. The top of its beak is curved and crosses over its lower beak, like someone crossing their fingers.
- Roseate Spoonbill: The Roseate Spoonbill is a large pink-red bird with a thick white neck and a yellow head. It has a long flat beak that's rounded at the end like a wooden-spoon.
